How to get your GitHub token
Create a personal access token with the right permissions
For followers (free)
- Go to GitHub Settings → Developer settings → Personal access tokens
- Click "Generate new token (classic)"
- Give it a name like "follo-followers"
- Select the user:follow and user:read scopes under
user(required for following/unfollowing users) - Click "Generate token" and copy the token
For repo stars (free)
- Same steps as above, but select the repo scope (required for starring/unstarring repositories)
Your token is encrypted and only used for follow and star operations as part of the exchange.
